for a rebate

When purchasing a new plate, PPQ now offers the option to Trade In plates that are already owned for a $75 or $200 rebate*.

Start a new plate purchase, and make sure to opt in for Trade In when prompted in the purchase process.

Step 2: Complete your Trade In

Depending on your situation, there are various ways in which you can complete the Trade In process after buying a new plate. Simply answer two questions to be provided with your options.

Trade in options

Option 1: Visit your local CSC

Wait for your new plates to arrive, then head to your local CSC with the following:

  • The old plates you are trading in (surrendering)
  • Cancellation Form (F3517)
  • Completed Remove and Attach Form (for current plates on vehicle and new plates)
  • Your new set of plates to be attached

Your old plates will be surrendered and new plates can be attached immediately. Once this is completed, you can call PPQ to process your rebate.

Option 2: Send to PPQ for processing

Once you receive your new plates, send the following to PPQ in a registered post bag:

  • Trade In plates to be surrendered
  • Cancellation Form (F3517)
  • Completed Remove and Attach Form (for current plates on vehicle and new plates)

PPQ will call you once your package is received to process the Remove and Attach Form. You must NOT attach your new plates to your vehicle until you hear back from PPQ.

N.B. If you wish to drive your vehicle in the meantime, you will need to attach a set of standard issue plates/other personalised plates to your vehicle at your closest CSC in which case, Option 1 will be more appropriate for your needs.

PPQ will process the Remove and Attach Form and call you back. At this time, your new plates will be able to be attached to your vehicle and your Trade In credit will be processed.

Option 1: Send to PPQ for Processing

Send the following to PPQ in a registered post bag within 30 days of requesting trade-in:

  • Trade In plates to be surrendered
  • Cancellation Form (F3517)

PPQ will call you back once the plates are received and confirm that the rebate will be processed at this point.

Option 2: Visit your local CSC

Trade In your old plates within 30 days via your local CSC with the following:

  • Trade In plates to be surrendered
  • Cancellation Form (F3517)

Once this is completed, you can call PPQ to process your rebate. Please note plates that are to be traded in need to be surrendered within 30 days to receive the rebate. If your vehicle is to remain registered, you’ll need to purchase & attach standard issue plates while at your local CSC.

Visit your local CSC with your new plates once they arrive, and your old/existing plates to be traded in.

Wait for your new plates to arrive, then head to your local CSC with the following:

  • Trade In plates to be surrendered
  • Cancellation Form (F3517)
  • Completed Remove and Attach Form (for new plates)
  • The new set of plates to be attached
  • The standard issue plates currently on your vehicle

Your old personalised plates and the standard issue plates currently on your vehicle will be surrendered, and your new personalised plates can be attached immediately. Once this is completed, you can call PPQ to process your rebate.

Surrender your old plates at your local CSC

Trade In your old plates within 30 days via your local CSC with the following:

  • Trade In plates to be surrendered
  • Cancellation Form (F3517)

Once this paperwork is processed, you can call PPQ to process your rebate. Please note plates that are to be traded in need to be surrendered within 30 days to receive the rebate. If your vehicle is to remain registered, your will need to attach a set of standard issue plates/ other personalised plates which can be arranged at the CSC at the same time.
